Blogilates - slim down with Youtube!

Cassey's a certified fitness instructor who has a Youtube channel with her workout videos!

Whaaat? I know!!

That's Cassey's catchphrase and my bf laughs everytime he hears that. She's so fun and is so genuinely excited about her workouts that her enthusiasm is contagious. I actually found her fake and a tryhard at first - furthermore, I wasn't impressed with her body. But like I said, she's contagious!

Many of her videos are less than 20 minutes but with so many videos, I'm sure you'll be able to find a few and come up with a customized 1 hour workout! So it's time to cancel that gym membership :P

I'm going with her Victoria Secret series because it sounds like I'll look like a supermodel when I'm done with it haha but I'm honestly more interested in being slim or toned rather than athletic aka gym bunny.

It's a matter of personal preference, I know that there are girls out there who prefer sculpted arms and 6 pack abs and there's nothing wrong about that but I'm happy with slim arms and 11 abs. I probably would just do these workouts once and never do them again cos I'm paranoid about becoming buff because she looks kinda buff. And the body I want is probably achievable through eating clean. Mostly I just wanna share her with all of you girls! And because it's easier for me to have all her videos in one place hahaha... Also, the chart above is based on my definitions. I do not claim that it is the universal standard, but feel free to agree with me lol.

Ok, on to the videos!

You gotta check out her blog and be wowed by the before and after pictures of women who lost tons of weight thanks to Cassey's work out videos!

♥ 140413

I've been sick. Again. Actually, I'm still sick.

I remember last year when I came to Melbourne, I only got sick once or twice. Now I've only been here for 2 months and I've been sick twice and have had an inflamed Achilles tendon. Not that I'm keeping track but WHAT IS THIS? Hello, immune system. You aren't doing your job. And body. OI. STAPH.

I had some kind of sinus infection and then I inflamed my Achilles tendon due to work. Oh, I'm a waitress now at Hawkers Cafe (Glenferrie Road) which serves the best (and I do not use this term lightly) Hainanese chicken rice so come by and have some even if you have to commute 2 hours. I don't care. It's good and you have to try it. Anyway, the doctor said that I inflamed the stupid tendon because I wasn't used to standing (ok that sounded stupid so lets add) too much. And I stood for 3 days straight. People who don't know me well didn't seem to believe me when I said that but honestly? I wouldn't believe anyone who told me that too. I'd be like pfft what do you mean because you stood for too long? HAHA stupid bitch. So I guess I should feel blessed that my family and friends did and were really concerned. Actually, I do. Not one of them scoffed at me or doubted me. I am incredibly lucky for people like that in my life.

Anyway, now I have this pain in my gums where my wisdom tooth is. Lai's convinced me that it's because my body is too heaty due to all the fries and late nights. I hate telling this to non-Chinese people because they just don't get it and I have to explain what it is but I'm really not good at that. So please don't ask me. Google should have had eradicated any need for asking questions. Before the pain started I remember skyping with my brother and he saw me eating fries and was all, "OMG. Why are you so unhealthy. Fries for dinner?!" Or something along those lines obviously I am not able to remember what he said word for word. And I replied, "It's healthy! It wasn't fried with oil, I used the convec oven so it's healthy!" Wise words, me. Baked stuff is just as heaty and probably as unhealthy.

Yesterday, it hurt so bad I stayed in bed the whole day, curled up with The Mortal Instruments after going to the clinic and called in sick for my intern job at Nuffnang. :( The doctor gave me antibiotics and drops but what I really wanted and need are painkillers! I tried panadol and that shit did nothing. I was moaning and acting like I broke my leg.

"Lai, water please." "Lai, I hunger. I want porridge!!!" "Lai, I wanna die." "Laiiiii..."

He told me that I am the worst patient ever and if I were ever admitted into the hospital, the nurse assigned to me would probably resign. But that's why he's forever my number 1 because he is probably the only person in the whole entire world who can stand me and still make me laugh.

Today, I decided that I should get out of the house so we went shopping! Nothing like shopping to take away the pain, eh? Then Alice texted me, asking me to let her know if I was interested in watching Warm Bodies. I replied with an "ok". After thinking about how stupid the trailer was and how adamant I was about NOT WATCHING THAT STUPID MOVIE ABOUT ZOMBIE LOVE, I texted her again and said I don't want to watch it. But she replied that she already got my ticket cos she thought my "ok" meant that I was interested. OH GOD WHAI. But I took it as a sign and went to watch it and it was actually... Pretty good! The only reason why it was alright is because it was funny! I can't help but compare it with Twilight. Twilight failed because the director is crap (The Host turned out alright, didn't it?) and because well... It was a serious love story with sparkly vampires and that just doesn't translate well on screen. This brings me to my next point...

Everytime someone asks me if I like Twilight, I'm hesitant in my reply because I don't know if they are referring to the books or the movies. I absolutely HATED the movies but I LOVED the books. Team Jacob, by the way. I know you're wondering. But the thing is, most people have only watched the movies and they prejudge other people for liking Twilight at all! I know I shouldn't care, but nobody likes to be judged.

Anyway, I got a box of Garnier dye and we dyed our hair black. I was sick of my accidental ombre (meaning my black color faded) and Lai was sick of his colored hair. So I dyed his hair and he dyed mine. We only used half a box because I only had to dye the bottom half of my hair and he's a guy. I really like those conditioner that comes with dyes. They should sell it and package it "as used in box dyes". It leaves hair so freaking soft and tangle free. I also love the Liese ones.

Ok goodnight. I shall leave you with this gag I modified corrected:

Yes the words I added are pink and hard to read. Problem?

Here's To Never Growing Up

I miss Avril. She was my favorite. I loved how she tries too hard, is a brat, rebels and yet still plays nice because it emulated how real she is because we all try a little too hard sometimes and we can all be brats, we all rebel once in a while and we're usually nice to people who are nice to us. And being pretty never hurt anyone.

Under My Skin is probably the best album but we rocked out to Girlfriend in my final year of middle school. I remember blasting Girlfriend on the PA system during recess along with JT's What Goes Around and all the shit which ensued. It was hilarious then and is still pretty funny.

Now she's back with a brand new track and I'm pretty sure you can guess how much I can relate.

So here's to never growing up.

Review & Swatches: Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

I don't know why I've never done one of these posts. I certainly have enough lipstuff to last me several lifetimes. The boyfriend constantly has to remind me that "you already have that shade!" in his exasperated tone BUT HE'S A BOY AND WHAT DOES HE KNOW ABOUT COLOR, HUH?!

I'm sure the whole world knows about Revlon ColorBust Lip Butters though! I've only recently acquired them and I'm hoping to share it with those that haven't heard about this amazing product!!!

This post isn't sponsored or anything, but I received them as presents from my friends when I expressed my interest in purchasing them. *^^* I initially complied a list and wanted to purchase them all when I returned home to Kuching. I asked the same friends to scope out the prices and guess what! In Kuching it retails at approximately RM25 (Watsons & Parkson & Facelook) while in Melbourne it's AUD21.95 (Priceline). But... Kuching has limited colors while Priceline has them ALL! Anyway, they bought all the colors they could get their hands on for me (with repeats cos neither knew of the others' plan haha). I am so touched by their gesture because the boyfriend would probably have stopped me from purchasing all the colors I wanted. And I'm glad for a variety because I have always wanted to try out lip colors outside of my pink comfort zone!

Many lipsticks claim to protect and moisturize your lips but truly how many does it? I have rather sensitive lips, they are always dry or peeling and I remember that L'Oreal 6 Hour Glam Shine (the one I had was Tempting Pink and was produced a few years back so I'm not sure if they updated the formula) really took its toll on my lips. I loved the glittery, high gloss, hydrated look Glam Shine gave me but my lips had such an adverse reaction towards them! My lips would shed every single time after about half an hour of Glam Shine on my lips. And it really didn't help that I love to chew on my lips and peel dead skin off them.

But Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters work the way they claim to. Instant hydration and glossy lips. Allow me to digress: I actually never realized that there are two kinds of lipstick - matte & glossy - until my friend pointed out to me that she looks better in matte lipstick. It was then I realized why some people's lipstick looks more natural than others. Matte = natural. Glossy = obviously not! But if you're the kind of girl (or guy) who loves having fun and juicy lips. YOU'VE FOUND YOUR HOLY GRAIL LIPSTICK.

I 100% RECOMMEND THEM! Especially since they come in ALL SHADES:

What's your favorite color?

I currently have 5: (THANKS TO LIZARDSIEW)

Before we begin the onslaught of swatches, I'm really sorry about the lighting. I haven't gotten the hang of doing selca with a badongkadonk camera and I kept shifting around and my lipstick probably isn't applied very perfectly (have yet to learn how!) and I might redo them in the future although knowing me, I most definitely will!!!

Ok, so I've decided to take another set of photos with flash. Here are both to make up for my inadequate skills. But I will update the photos once I am more experienced and is able to take more professional looking selcas! :)

Update: 10/04/13 I've uploaded a new set of (hopefully) more professional looking photos taken in natural lighting. I've decided that natural lighting can be a bitch because it's a total race against time. Especially when you have to remove and reapply lipstick as perfectly as you can while trying not to lose the light. But enough of my rambling! Enjoy my hard work:

Au Naturale
Just so you know what kind of base we're starting off with!

As you can see my natural color is pretty washed out and my lips are constantly chewed up.

080 Strawberry Shortcake

This is my favorite out of the lot because it's a soft creamy pink. It's also got the softest texture - not sure if it is because it is the best loved one (meaning I use it the most) or if it's just manufactured that way. But be wary of bringing this lipstick out with you during hot, humid days because its buttery texture makes it prone to melting. It's more true to the non-flash picture. I don't understand why it came out lavender tinged in the flash. o.o

070 Cherry Tart

My first ever RED lipstick. This one is slightly firmer than Strawberry Shortcake but still plenty soft and it has a pearly sheen to it. Very Blair Waldorf. I only applied one layer for the flash photo just because it was the last photo I took and I was honestly so tired of applying and removing lipstick!!! It's no excuse but just FYI its color intensity should be a lot richer.

075 Lollipop

My first ever fuchsia lipstick. I usually hate loud, purplish pinks but this feels totally vintage! It's a vibrant lipstick that really delivers that punch. To me, it's a party color and I often reach for it on my night outs or when I want to make an impression. The flash photo is more true to its actual color.

025 Peach Parfait

This is like the exact shade of my lips, with glitter!!! It has the sandiest texture because of all the glitter (I don't understand why the glitter doesn't show up well on camera but trust me it's glittery) and feels more like wax than butter. It is probably the least moisturizing and the hardest to get out because it's stickier and sparkly.

085 Sugar Plum

The least favorable color (on me, anyway). It's a dark plum colored lipstick which makes me look like I forgot to wipe my lips after eating chocolate or like I'm poisoned and is about to die. I haven't reached for this at all but I probably will this coming Halloween when I dress up as a witch or zombie! I think it looks kinda like Peach Parfait but a lot darker... I don't know why it looks prettier with flash tho.

Some of them are more moisturizing than others. I don't know why, but Strawberry Shortcake, Cherry Tart and Lollipop are more moisturizing than Peach Parfait or Sugar Plum. Their textures are also different, with the former 3 being creamier and the latter 2, sandier.

* * *

My bf was so funny. I had all the cropped photos open in photoshop and while I was smudging the fuck out of my skin, he looked me like this:

"That's a lot of lips."

Anyway, I'm definitely planning on getting more. Especially: Sweet Tart! And stock up on Strawberry Shortcake while I'm at it because ever since L'Oreal discontinued Glam Shine Strawberry Sorbet (which did not kill my lips whatsoever and gave me the shimmeriest lips ever!) I live in a constant state of FEAR that another one of my favorite product will be sentenced to NONEXISTENCE forever!

My next lippie target?

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede in High Heels, Trendsetter and Front Row/Couture. Maybe even something out of my comfort zone like It Girl, Private Viewing.

And guess what. Those lipsticks are not matte or glossy but SATIN. How cool is that? You learn something new every day. HAH. To see the lip butters in action, follow me on Instagram @veyroniqa!
